My Approach to Helping
Life is hard. And whether you decide to seek support through me or someone else, I commend you for starting or continuing on this journey of health and wellness. Help is helpful, and you do not need to be in crisis before you ask for, or receive help.
On that note, if you are struggling with life transitions, an overthinking brain that can lead to depressive feelings and anxiety, or difficult relationships, I would love to partner with you to identify unhealthy patterns and build new habits and practices to live the life you want.
I take a client-centered approach - meaning I explore your needs and look for ways we can come together and co-create the best treatment and working relationship. I deeply desire to provide a safe space through active listening and empathy. I want you to "feel felt" - or in other words to feel deeply understood. And if for some reason I misunderstand you, I am always open to feedback. Sessions can look like you beginning with topics or concerns that are top of mind or I can help explore issues through open-ended questions, observations, and making connections to things we have discussed in the past. At the beginning of treatment we will set goals together so we can start on the same page of clearly identify what growth and healing looks like for you.
If you find this approach to be a good fit, please reach out and together we can find a path through all the darkness life has brought and continues to bring your way.
