Professions: Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Social Worker
License Status: I'm a licensed professional.
Primary Credential: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - LW00007980
Billing and Insurance:

I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage

Fees: I am an Out-of-Network (OON) provider for insurance. I urge all potential clients to contact their insurer to inquire about their OON benefits before beginning therapy. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have about this billing model.

The following are my fees:
Free 15 minute consultation
$250 for a new client intake assessment
$175 for an up-to-50 minute individual therapy session
$225 for a 60 minute couples or conjoint therapy session
$100 for up to 30 minute extension of couples or conjoint therapy session (please confirm availability when scheduling)
[For couples or conjoint therapy, an intake session is needed for each participant individually.]
*I am unable to accept any new couples clients at this time.*

Clients typically keep a credit card* on file, which I bill at the time of the session. I then provide a “superbill” with all of the diagnoses and session codes for clients to submit to their insurance if they wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement. (*Cash, check, HSA, and Zelle accepted, as well.)

My Approach to Helping

**ACCEPTING NEW IN-PERSON AND TELEHEALTH CLIENTS** Though I work with a wide range of clinical issues, I have a passion for working with clients to heal the wounds of abuse, other traumas, or narcissism; work through family-of-origin and attachment issues; liberate from the confines of anxiety, panic, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (or tendencies); repair and heal from relational issues; develop effective boundary-drawing; transform self-concept and self-esteem; and grow to find peace, joy, purpose, and overall wellness.

I offer a compassionate understanding of who you are, how you show up in the world, and how you experience things. I work with you to identify and build on the strengths within you while developing new strategies and uncovering new insights to help you heal, grow, and flourish. I am nurturing while also able to challenge long-held beliefs and patterns, which may be keeping you stuck or holding you back from the life you want to live. I wish you well on your journey!

More Info About My Practice

I began practicing psychotherapy over 20 years ago in the greater Washington, DC area. After 4 years, I moved back to the Northwest to join Rainier Associates, a private practice group in Tacoma, WA. I loved this model, but, after 17 years, our group was acquired by a large, nationwide corporation. Although a large corporation is able to provide access to care to more clients, I recognized that a small, personalized setting best compliments my therapeutic approach and decided to establish my own private practice: Be Well, Washington, PLLC. I offer in-person therapy in downtown Tacoma and telehealth for all of Washington State.

Groups I Work With

I have extensive experience working with survivors of early life trauma. Often, these individuals have kept their traumatic experiences a secret, which they have carried alone through their life. I consider it a privilege to earn their trust and walk the journey with them as they heal and find freedom from the hold their trauma has had on them.

I also have significant experience working with clients struggling with family-of-origin issues (past or present dynamics with family-of-origin, or family-of-origin issues impacting other relationships), as well as other attachment issues, interpersonal difficulties, and couples issues. Coping with a person in a client's life with narcissistic personality disorder (or narcissistic traits) is another focus of my practice in which I work with clients who are still in the relationship, as well as those who have ended the relationship but still struggle with the ongoing impact the person had and continues to have on them and their life.

I also specialize in the range of anxiety disorders, helping clients find their way through generalized anxiety, panic, phobias (including agoraphobia and social phobia), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (or tendencies) towards more effective, less distressed functioning.
