My Approach to Helping
Have you ever felt like there's a part of you that you don't quite understand, something holding you back or causing repeating patterns in your life?
In my psychotherapy practice, I believe that many of our challenges stem from deep-seated ways of thinking and relating to others, shaped by our life experiences. These problems in living can lead to painful symptoms such as depression and anxiety, and a frustrating inability to move forward in life.
When people come to me, they have usually tried everything they can think of to resolve their problems. What we can assume, then, is that there are some things that are out of one’s awareness. By understanding those areas that could not be known, new options become available for greater freedom, enhanced self-esteem, and more fulfilling relationships and life experiences.
You may be seeking help in a time of crisis or stress, or perhaps you’ve considered therapy for a while but keep putting it off. Either way, you don’t have to figure things out alone.

My Therapy Focus
I work with people in psychotherapy seeking help for a wide range of concerns. Most often these are experienced as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or a vague sense of being stuck or of missing out on something more that life has to offer. My experience and training has taught me that these are usually symptoms of underlying problems that are not fully known or understood. By focusing not just on symptoms, but also deeper parts of your self that have been covered over for good reason, more lasting change becomes possible. This approach to therapy is often effective for people who have been to therapy in the past, but continue to be frustrated by patterns in their lives that repeat over and over again. It's also the most widely sought approach for therapists who are looking for their own psychotherapy. I see these individuals in my practice as well as anyone seeking help with the concerns listed on my profile.
