My Approach to Helping

When we are facing challenges in our lives, it is tough to find ways of working through them on our own. I believe that through a respectful therapeutic environment, all people can find new strength and resilience to overcome life challenges. As a therapist, my goal is to collaborate with you and find ways of addressing your concerns in a way that feels natural and respectful to who you are.

I provide counseling to adolescents and adults and help them work through issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem body image, sexualitygender identity development, and more. Additionally, I have a passion for and experience working with diverse groups of people such as the queer community, neurodivergent folk, and non-monogamous kink communities.

I approach therapy with a variety of clinical styles such as rational emotive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and strengths-based approaches. However, your needs and goals are most important in therapy. I will always adjust my style so that therapy will feel authentic for you. Therapy is supposed to be hard work, but a space still full of grace, positivity, and humor. I am looking forward to working with you.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

If you are thinking about going, why not give it a try. You can show up for one session and make a decision to continue from there. If you're on the fence about going, do yourself a favor and figure out if therapy could be something that moves your life closer to where you want to be.

Groups I Work With

I work with individuals (adolescents to adults) on any of the issues described above. I have particular experience working with people in the neurodivergent, Queer, and polykink communities. Additionally, I have helped many "emerging adults" navigate the challenges and struggles of feeling like they are a "functioning adult". I describe this population as people who are likely 18+ and are suddenly thrust into society with expectations that they know what they are doing and how to do it.
