My Approach to Helping
Chelsey Conley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10+ years of experience working with individuals of all ages, couples and groups. Chelsey uses a client-centered, humanistic approach, focusing on the holistic aspects of what it means to be human to include mind, body and spirit. She generally focuses on theories such as existentialism, narrative therapy, mindfulness, family-systems, and rational choice theory, among others, while keeping careful consideration of cultural concerns and practices.
Chelsey prides herself on creating a safe and comforting therapeutic environment. Chelsey approaches the therapy space with the goal of "sitting alongside" rather than adopting an "I know best" mentality. She uses empathy and compassionate inquiry coupled with curiosity and open ended questions as the base of her work. Rather than offer advice, Chelsey believes that her clients know themselves better than anyone and works with them to help them awaken their own healer within. She guides the session with a strengths based perspective and she firmly believes that her clients have all their own answers and gently guides them to their own intuition by tuning into body, mind and spirit.
