My Approach to Helping
If you feel depressed or overwhelmed by life and feel like you need to make a change but don’t know how, you’re not alone. I enjoy helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, adjustment issues, and life stress. I believe we can learn to solve our problems by exploring our “inner selves” and to accept andor change our thoughts and actions. Therapy can help you become more self-aware and develop a better understanding of who you are and what you need. Overall, I hope to provide care to assist you in building a life worth living and to be "the main character in the story of your life."
I utilize an eclectic mix of Rational Emotive Behavior Theory (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailored to each client’s individual needs. The age groups I work with include older teenagers to adults, up to and including seniors. I see clients both in person at my office in the North Hills and via telehealth.
I provide an emotionally safe, supportive, and open environment that invites client collaboration in order to build a strong client-therapist rapport, and I connect with my clients through respect, honesty, compassion and humor. My goal is to support you in this process and help you find the tools that work for you.
