My Approach to Helping
I am here to help. All clients deserve a safe, supportive space that encourages acceptance, understanding, and emotional growth. My approach to your therapy is one where we work as a collaborative unit to identify and enact solutions to work through the issues brought to treatment. This united spirit allows you to make meaningful breakthroughs to improve your life and relationships.
I have an Associate Degree in Paralegal, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Behavior, Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling specializing in Forensic Counseling. I have training in Play Therapy and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I). I also have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy). I can assist with Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma including sexual, physical, and emotional. I have training to assist children with EMDR as an EMDR Child Specialist.
I have experience assisting adolescents and young adults as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA) in Juvenile Court and has a case manager. I have also worked with children of abuse and children under Court ordered probation. Also, I can assist with your child\'s development needs, learning ways to reduce conflict and the exposure of conflict, assist with co-parenting, learning to communicate effectively to your child, and assist with options to give your child a successful life.
As the wife of a Fire Captain, I have a deep understanding of the stressors which affect first responders, and I have the knowledge and experience to counsel and treat this niche as well.
