My Approach to Helping
Welcome, and thank you for considering me as a therapist to partner with you on your therapy journey! I am Christine Buzitsky, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and Virginia. I have twenty-five years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families to address relationship issues, anxiety, depression, women's issues, grief, ADHD, coping with chronic medical concerns, and life transitions. I believe therapy must be individualized to the client. I have specialized training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Therapy.
As a therapist, my role is to create a trusting client-therapist partnership and foster a team dynamic to address a client's concerns. At the start of the first session, I establish that I am a part of their team to assist them in creating and implementing action plans to allow for growth toward reaching their therapeutic goals. I incorporate various therapy techniques to individualize and tailor therapy specific to the client while implementing tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. Everyone's journey is unique, and working as a team with open communication is essential to finding the right balance for individual success.
