My Approach to Helping

Attachment has become a bit of a buzzword lately, but what does it really mean? Attachment focused therapy helps you make connections between early experiences and feelings and the anxiety, low mood or relationship difficulties you may be experiencing today. With an eye toward the past but our feet firmly in the present, I help people make sense of what they've tried sort it out on your own. You may have asked, what else can I do for myself, for my relationship? Reaching out for help can be scary, but it can be a major step toward feeling more like you want to feel.

Struggling on your own be exhausting and overwhelming. You feel like you're doing everything you can, but things just don't seem to fall into place trying to figure it all out on your own. This is where the connection of attachment comes in! Seeking help can be scary, it can be the first step in making significant changes.

What do you imagine it might be like to find a little relief from hard-to-manage feelings and find more satisfaction in your daily life and relationships with family, friends, or your partner? It just might feel like being less stressed out, less overloaded, more flexible, more resilient, and more self-compassionate.

With curiosity and compassion, genuineness and humor, I help individuals and couples understand themselves and their relationships better and find relief from challenging emotions and experiences. For more information about my practice, please visit my website.

More Info About My Practice

My style is down to earth, authentic and relaxed, with a healthy dose of humor (when appropriate, of course!) My approach is rooted in contemporary attachment research, interpersonal neurobiology, and psychoanalytic therapy. Therapy is a dynamic, creative and collaborative process, sparking parts of ourselves that have been unattended and helping calm those areas that are harder for us to deal with.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I particularly enjoy working with musicians, artists and other creative folks. Of course many issues facing individuals in creative fields are universal (trauma, depression, anxiety) are not uncommon, there some challenges unique to individuals in these occupations such as self-esteem struggles, issues around blocks and productivity, and the impact of one's art on relationships.
