My Approach to Helping
Clara is a master’s level psychotherapist, a licensed professional counselor (LPC), and is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. She believes in a holistic approach to mental well-being in addressing a client’s needs and working at the root core of clients’ concerns. Clara considers herself a cultural explorer and believes in the uniqueness of clients and their concerns and works to assist clients in building and working on a plan that evokes the client’s natural inner strengths while providing them with tools to reach their treatment goals. She enjoys working with clients and their belief systems using Mindfulness and other approaches so that clients can realize their own power and capabilities in dealing with their life concerns. She is licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Her CACREP-certified degree ( Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) is a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is certified in advanced ART, a trauma therapy, and she has worked with ages from 5 years to 80+ years. Her work as a school-based counselor has provided her with years of not only individual counseling but family counseling as well. She has experience with group counseling and couples therapy. Her first position was as an addiction counselor, which she believes provided her with a deeper understanding of human suffering and a stronger appreciation of the resiliency of the human spirit. She acknowledges counseling as a shared experience between counselor and client with each client being the expert and creator of their life.
