My Approach to Helping
Are you tired of having unproductive conflict, feeling unheard, or beating yourself up and striving for perfection? I’m a licensed psychologist with several years of specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). We can use strategies from CBT and DBT to create a linear, targeted treatment plan to help you believe in yourself, ask for what you want and cope in ways that make you feel better about yourself. Or, if you are struggling with intense emotions and finding this is interfering with your relationship, we can use Gottman Couples therapy to help you and your partner reconnect.
I got my PhD in clinical psychology at Palo Alto University with an emphasis in neuroscience and women’s health in collaboration with Stanford University School of Medicine. I also trained at Sharp Mesa Vista, where I used CBT and DBT interventions to address self-harm, suicidal ideation, and intense anger.
I can help you to identify your boundaries and to communicate to your loved ones when you are feeling unheard. Life is hard. Together we can build new strategies for coping with stress, sadness and the difficulties of life. I see clients in-person in San Diego, and virtually all over California.
