My Approach to Helping
Cody Watts believes in the natural resilience and healing intelligence within each person, guiding clients to thrive and create lasting positive change. His compassionate and holistic approach provides personalized therapy for individuals, couples, and families, addressing emotional challenges with empathy and insight. Cody likens the psyche's ability to heal from emotional wounds to the body's capacity to recover from physical injuries, fostering a belief in the profound strength and potential for growth within every individual.
Cody earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University. He is also an Associate Credentialed Life Coach (ACC) and a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Instructor, having trained with the Center for Coaching Excellence and under renowned meditation teacher David Nichtern. His certifications from Dharma Moon and Tibet House reflect his dedication to integrating mindfulness and contemplative practices into his work.
With over 12 years of experience, Cody has supported a wide range of clients. He has counseled adolescents in local communities, mentored young men with criminal backgrounds in rebuilding their careers, aided formerly homeless individuals in stabilizing their lives, and provided critical support for youth transitioning out of foster care into adulthood.
As a member of the Foundations Counseling team, Cody collaborates with an exceptional network of therapists committed to delivering professional, effective, and confidential care. This team’s dedication to ongoing training and evidence-based practices ensures clients receive the most up-to-date and impactful therapy.
