My Approach to Helping

Hi! I’m Corrie and I’m a psychodynamic therapist who works with people who feel disconnected from the life they would like to live. During our therapy sessions, you get a chance to talk, troubleshoot, work through unprocessed feelings, role-play, examine unconscious patterns or factors that may be hindering you, investigate yourself and your relationships, while building coping skills for living a life that feels more aligned and meaningful to you. My approach is direct, compassionate, curious, and strength-based. While I’m passionate about helping people recovering from emotional abuse, I also work with young professionals who feel stressed out navigating relationships (marriage, dating, divorce), career, and. I also have specialized training working with children and teens.

More Info About My Practice

I am not in-network with any insurance company. However, I am often covered for out-of-network benefits to the extent your plan allows. So payment is initially out-of-pockets, and if you wish, I can offer you an invoice each month for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Victims of emotional abuse may feel like they have completely lost themselves. When we experience psychological abuse, there are severe ramifications that impact our ability to function holistically in our lives. To make matters worse, emotional abuse is often invisible to others. Our partner may behave differently in front of our friends and family, but behind closed doors they are bullies and tyrants. This leads to feelings of isolation, hopelessness, and shame. As the confusion and disorientation of this experience sets in, victims start to distrust their own healthy instincts and may even blame themselves for their partners abusive behaviors. The cycle of psychological beatings is a soul killing process. Whether you experienced emotional abuse as a child or are currently living with this traumatic experience, there is hope, joy, and empowerment to be found beyond the pain and suffering. Call or email me today to schedule a free 20-minute consultation.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Self awareness inspires confidence and clarity in our values, desires, and boundaries. Therapy is place where you learn to trust yourself despite expectations from family, friends, and culture. It's a sacred space; a place you can come unscripted and raw. My hope is to provide a safe place for you to cultivate a deeper connection with yourself.
