My Approach to Helping
Courtney Grossnickle is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Maryland. As an eclectic therapist, she draws from multiple therapeutic approaches to create a personalized experience that best supports each client’s unique needs. She believes that no single method works for everyone, so she integrates techniques from various evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness practices, and person-centered approaches.
My philosophy of helping is rooted in flexibility, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s worldview. I strive to understand your experiences, values, and goals, using different therapeutic tools to support your healing and growth. Whether we are exploring thought patterns, processing emotions, building coping skills, or strengthening relationships, my approach adapts to what works best for you.
Courtney Grossnickle has had the privilege of working with individuals across a range of settings, including crisis counseling, family therapy, outpatient therapy, hospitalizations, and with children in the foster care system. She has supported clients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood struggles, conduct issues, and family conflicts.
Seeking counseling can feel daunting and vulnerable, but Courtney’s primary goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, accepted and genuinely cared for. If you're looking for someone who will listen deeply and understand your unique experience, Courtney is here for you. Take that first step, knowing you're not alone. Together, we can begin the journey toward the person you want to become, with all the support and encouragement you deserve.
