My Approach to Helping
Hello, I’m Courtney Minarsky, a licensed clinical social worker offering telehealth therapy to residents of New Jersey and New York. My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and encouraging. I use a strength-based perspective to help people understand their needs, accept their genuine selves, and heal pain from the past so that they can begin to finally feel calmer and happier. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find healing and growth through a supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship.
I have experience working with clients facing a range of issues, including anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem struggles, and parenting challenges. My goal is to create a safe space where you can feel heard and understood while offering practical tools and insights that can support you in overcoming difficulties and making lasting positive changes.
Together, we’ll collaborate to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a way that brings clarity and healing. Whether you're dealing with overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, or looking to achieve personal growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
More Info About My Practice
I work collaboratively with each client as a unique individual with their own needs and desires for change. I help people become more accepting of themselves so that they can make whatever changes they would like to make.
I believe that therapy is most effective when it’s tailored to your unique needs, values, and goals. I use a blend of therapeutic techniques, such as:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): To help identify and change negative thought patterns that can contribute to emotional distress.
Mindfulness-based therapy: To help you build greater awareness and presence, reducing stress and increasing emotional resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): to help you achieve healing and integration through self-awareness, compassion, and inner harmony.
Psychodynamic: to explore how unconscious thoughts, early life experiences, and interpersonal dynamics shape current behavior and emotions
I am certified in Dr. Becky Kennedy's Good Inside Method of Parent Coaching and have amazing tools to offer parents who are struggling with their child's behaviors and big feelings. I also have advanced training in relationship dynamics from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Starting therapy can be scary especially if it is your first time. If there is a part of you that is longing for a space to talk about your pain and another part of you that is worried about opening up to a complete stranger, you are not alone! Feeling nervous or unsure about therapy is completely normal AND you shouldn't let those nerves stop you from reaching out for support. My number one priority is to make my clients feel emotionally safe which means meeting you where you are and going at your pace. Therapy sessions with me are a judgement-free space where nothing is off limits talk talk about.
