My Approach to Helping
Hello, my name is Crystal Williams, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as well as a Licensed Social worker (LSW) in the state of Illinois. My best treatment approaches are a collage of multiple treatment modalities such as Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)compassion focused emotional focused psychodynamic therapysolution focused and strength-based, and for couple's therapy: Gottman theory, Imago method, and Emotion-focused therapy to name a few. Services and treatment plans are created for each individualized client(s).
I clinical practice with Adults seeking individual andor couple's therapy for short-term therapy. I have had clients from all different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. I specialize in the following treatment conditions: Anxiety Panic Attacks, Stress Management, Relationship issues, Parenting issues Parentchild issues, Self EsteemSelf-identity concerns, Communication Boundaries, Coping skills, LGBTQIA+, grief counseling, etc. I pride myself on being a Cliniciantherapist who is open-minded and relatable with my clients. I want clients to feel comfortable being expressive of their thoughts, feelings, and ideas and most important to have a safe space to feel heard and understood. My goal is to learn about my clients, build rapport and help them to the best of my ability and expertise to meet their goals for therapy.
I was fortunate to know that my purpose when I grew up was to become a clinician since the age of 11 years old. I tell clients often I became what I wanted to be when I grew up which is a story you do not hear often. I absolutely Love my career; this never feels like work therefore, it is easy to be motivated every day as I look forward to spending time with my clients to hear new stories and hear highlights of their improvement because of therapy. I am able to be a piece of someone's journey towards healing and improving themselves in ways they may not have known was possible prior to their first session.
The client(s) and I collaborative discuss the goal for therapy and each client(s) develops a treatment plan, which is structured as our road map to achieve the client(s) goal and objectives for treatment. The client(s) and I are a team to achieve the treatment plan. In the initial session, I will outline what will happen during the initial session; gather initial information for assessment purposes, discuss the reason for the initial consultation, discuss the desired goal for therapy or the appointment, and build rapport.
