My Approach to Helping
I know it can be a difficult decision to choose to find therapy. This is a time for healing and building, and when you choose to start this journey, we can work together to achieve this. I help clients manage their mental health in school, community, individual, and inpatient settings. If you are feeling angry all the time, having difficulties getting out of bed in the morning, feeling so anxious you can't move, thoughts of self-harm, urges to use, low self esteem, having difficulty adjusting to life's stressors, unsure of life's direction or are having challenges in relationships of any kind I am here to help.
I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), such as distress tolerance and mindfulness practices. Collaboratively, we will be able to match you to what type of therapy will suit you and teach you tangible skills to utilize
During our first session, we will talk about what makes you who you are, not just your presenting problem. With this information, we will collaboratively determine what we can do to make you an active participant in improving your life. Together, we can make your mental health work for you.
