My Approach to Helping
I believe that self-acceptance is the cornerstone to emotional wellness. Peace does not come from the absence of stress and struggle, but in one's ability to be comfortable living with it. I view my work through the lens of anti-oppression: I acknowledge the impact that systemic, cultural, and societal expectations have on our daily existence and sense of self. We all carry with us a unique set of intersecting identities, which, taken together, influence our life experiences and shape our worldview. I believe that the foundation of emotional health exists in the exploration of these identities and the radical acceptance of our whole selves.
More Info About My Practice
I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, and employ an eclectic, culturally sensitive approach to mental health services. Because each person is unique, I draw on a variety of practice and evidence-based theoretical orientations and styles tailored to your specific treatment goals and needs. I believe that effective therapy is a collaborative process between clinician and client, and above all else, I strive to offer a safe space in which to explore your personal barriers to positive growth, and provide non-judgmental guidance and compassionate challenging of the patterns and behaviors that stand in your way.
