My Approach to Helping
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with anxiety (social anxiety, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and more). I also have a strong clinical focus on obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
I primarily provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as it is considered the gold standard for treating anxiety disorders. I also have extensive experience implementing exposure and response prevention (ERP) for individuals with OCD.
Most people with anxiety can make significant improvements in their life through CBT. Feel free to contact me to see if we would be a good fit to work together. To learn more about me, please visit my website at www.danielseddon.ca.
*Please note that I am only offering therapy virtually at this time.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have a strong emphasis in my practice for treating anxiety disorders and OCD. I primarily provide cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for these issues as they are evidence-based treatments.
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
In order to provide effective care, I conduct a thorough assessment with every client in order to understand their unique background, history, and symptoms. Based on this assessment I formulate a treatment plan and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of treatment as we work together.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Unfortunately, there is a possibility that people can have negative experiences during therapy. Often, this is due to a less than ideal fit between the therapist and the client. I offer free consultations to provide you with an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about the therapy process to ensure we are a good fit to work together.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Above all - you should choose a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and safe with. It is important to know that most mental health problems are well understood and have evidence-based treatments that can help. Individuals who are seeking help with a specific problem (for example, OCD) should search for providers that are experienced in treating OCD with evidence-based treatments (exposure and response prevention).
