Battling anxiety day in and out is exhausting. You’re tired of imagining worst-case-scenarios and can’t seem to turn off the constant "what if" thoughts. Feelings of discomfort or panic may be leading you to avoid certain places or situations, and it’s difficult to make sense of why this is happening in the first place. Hearing things like, "it's all in your head," or "don't worry so much," makes us feel even worse, like somehow anxiety is our fault. I want to assure you, anxiety is not a choice or something we can just will away. If it was that simple, anxiety wouldn't be the most common mental health diagnosis in the entire U.S.
