My Approach to Helping
I often have clients ask me what my specialty is, I think I have a unique view on "specialty". I consider one's specialty to be in their treatment modality not in the diagnoses one treat. Take Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for example, it is an evidence-based treatment for a wide range of disorders. Thus, if one specializes in CBT they should be able to treat just about anyone they encounter. My main style of counseling is Adlerian Pattern Recognition Therapy, I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in my practice as well. That being said I am a true general practitioner and won't turn anyone away based on the problem they are facing in life.
I started my career working in Corrections and Law Enforcement, I was in this career field for about five years and was in grad school for Mental Health Counseling at the time. Because of this life experience, I do think I have a unique ability to understand veterans and first responders of all kinds. I have been practicing since October of 2018.
