My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is one of empowerment and self-discovery. I emphasize working with individual, couples and families in a collaborative environment to help them realize their inner strength and resiliency. With the use of self exploration and mindfulness techniques clients discover how to overcome and work through the issues or areas of need. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I place equal emphasis on the individual, as well as the systems in our lives and how the two of them combine to shape us.

When I work with people I try to bring a sense of curiosity to the process. I want to learn and understand their stories. Who the people and events are in their lives that have impacted them help create the person they are today. Then through exploration and the process of being mindful I try to help disrupt the negative stories and help people write new healthier preferred ones.

I believe that each individual is the expert of their own lives. This mindset helps me work collaboratively with different individuals in helping them feel empowered and regain a sense of control
