My Approach to Helping
I'm here to help you manage symptoms of anxiety and depression that are impinging upon your capacity to live life fully, productively, and enjoyably. You may feel stressed about a relationship, may struggle with work frustrations, or may have suffered trauma that is recent or deeply entrenched. You may be coping with grief, whether of a loved one or an intangible but no less traumatic and deeply felt loss. Whatever your concern, I'm here to assist you in obtaining relief that is healthful, adaptive, and lasting.
I offer a multi-modal approach: we begin with you, my client, giving voice to your concerns. I offer empathic listening and support while assisting you in the management of stressors and reduction of symptoms. I employ a cognitive and behavioral approach, as well as other evidence-based therapies that are clinically indicated for your unique situation.
The place where you find yourself at this very moment may be dark, difficult to navigate, frightening, distressing, low on hopefulness, with more questions than answers. I'm here to listen, to empathize, to assist you in finding a way to feel better, to regain a sense of mastery and control over the stressors that bring you down, that hold you back.
