My Approach to Helping
Psychotherapy services should address the specific needs of each client. Having trained in a variety of evidence-based practices, I work together with my clients to determine which approach works best for them, with the intent of addressing both symptoms and long-standing patterns of behavior. My approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. I also have a background in Jungian psychodynamic treatment.
I work with adults couples of all ages, including college-aged and older adults. I specialize in treating mood (e.g., depression and bipolar disorder) and anxiety disorders, major life transitions (e.g., career, college), relational familial concerns and trauma PTSD. I also have specialized training in treating ADHD, sleep disturbance and substance use.
In addition to my clinical work, I was on faculty at UCLA and trained clinicians on evidence-based practices.
