My Approach to Helping
I believe that my role as a therapist is to come alongside individuals and help them to become the hero of their OWN story. My approach is supportive, honest, and client directed.
Attachment and systems theory are the underpinnings of my methodology and cognitive behavioral, cognitive interpersonal, narrative, dialectical, and collaborative problem solving therapies are the primary modalities that I utilize.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
My favorite part of being a therapist is empowering clients, seeing the light bulbs go on, and their relationships become healthier.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Clients can expect from me a therapist who is warm, genuine, accepting, and who will challenge them to meet their own goals (not necessarily mine).
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The length of treatment varies from client to client and it is generally the client who determines when therapy is complete. It is my goal to work myself out of a job.
