My Approach to Helping

"Learn to Live Well" reflects my belief that psychotherapy is a positive, educational process. I assume each client has an innate knowledge of how to solve their problems but may have become caught in a frustrating loop of trying the same unsuccessful solution attempts over and over again. Often, a look at one's family of origin reveals patterns and learned behaviors that prevent creative, successful solutions from surfacing. In many cases, this process may not only solve existing problems, but prevent future difficulties. Each client is valued, affirmed, and encouraged to learn in their own way, according to their particular personality type and time frame. My goal is to provide a safe environment for individuals, couples, or families to get to the truth of what they are feeling and thinking without shame or fear. My hope is that clients will not only feel they are getting help, but will enjoy therapy as a learning process uniquely suited to them and their desired outcomes.

More Info About My Practice

My fees are $150.00 per 50 minute session and $225.00 for 80-100 minute couple sessions. I am $175.00 per hour for court related issues. As an out-of-network provider, I will provide you with the necessary information to file your claims. Typically, my clients can receive 50-70% of their fee back (excluding Blue Cross Blue Shield). I have Saturday morning sessions available and emergency sessions as needed.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I believe I have the best job in the world. My personality is perfectly suited to the helping profession as I am energized by people and am adept at making connections. My passion about mental health and psychotherapy springs from my core belief that we are all capable of being restored and renewed in our thinking, feeling and behaviors. I believe God created us to grow, learn and change. To me, no problem is insurmountable if we are willing to honestly face our feelings, examine our thinking and be open to new information. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a client gain understanding that frees them from outdated, cumbersome thought patterns that have limited their choices and decisions.

Groups I Work With

I specialize is assisting those in relationships with high conflict personalities such as borderline, narcissistic, and passive-aggressive, whether in marriage, the workplace, or parentchild. These are often very difficult relationships to navigate. They can become abusive, and cause low self-esteem and co-dependency. I help educate clients on how to take care of themselves in these relationships and learn better strategies to manage the situation.
