My Approach to Helping
I am Deborah Fujimoto, LCSW; I approach clients with a focus on their destination. My areas of practice include anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, domestic violence, and trauma. It is usually on a case-by-case basis that I will determine what seems to fit best. I will use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, person-centered, grief, or trauma-focused, depending on a client's goal.
I usually work with men, women and older adults. My tone is usually sensitive and empathetic. I try to relate immediately to the client's situation, building trust as soon as possible. I started as a therapist because I had a positive experience when I was in therapy as a young woman. It made a huge difference in my life. I would like to help make a difference in someone else's life.
The client is the driver of goals. Clients should expect a warm, caring, place where they will not be judged, but appreciated for who they are in the present. And they can expect support and encouragement in their journey in therapy.
