My Approach to Helping
I am currently providing telehealth sessions. I have been providing therapy to individuals, couples, and groups for the past 29 years. I specialize in issues related to substance abuse and dependence, dual disorders, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. I also assist clients with relationship issues—with special emphasis on recognizing and overcoming Narcissistic Abuse. Additionally, I assist clients with stress-related issues, helping them develop healthy coping skills and boundaries. My treatment philosophy centers around creating a trusting, supportive relationship with my clients to work together successfully through the healing process. I use a combination of a psycho-educational, client-centered, cognitive approach and the 12-step framework. I find this approach most effective for my clients to become aware of the sources of problematic actions that keep them from living their best lives. I believe in increasing my clients' awareness and personal insight in order to encourage lasting change to achieve their goals. I am working towards transitioning part of my time back to office-based sessions.
