My Approach to Helping
At our first session, we will begin to identify strengths, destructive patterns and establish goals. Using proven treatment methods we will formulate a treatment plan to help you achieve the life you want.
We will start our work using Solution Focused Therapies designed to fit your unique needs. I use an integrative and holistic approach that considers the total you: heart, mind, body and spirit. I recognize that therapy is a serious investment of both time and money, therefore I will do my best to help you move forward at a very reasonable rate. Most of my clients make measurable progress in 5 sessions and significant progress in 10 sessions. I see clients both in and around Plano in a traditional setting in my office and through out Texas via on-line teletherapy (video conferencing).
More Info About My Practice
My doctoral research was conducted on heart rate variability (HRV). HRV impacts depression, anxiety, ADHD, and overall health, therefore, I often incorporate simple heart rate variability biofeedback practices into my therapeutic services. I specifically tailor treatment to fit the individual needs of my client. Thus I often address diet, exercise, and sleep, as these areas are critical to mental health issues and overall well being.
For Couples: I offer specialized weekend Private Intensives as well as Semi-Private Retreats. Call me for specifics about these services, and ask me about my Money Back Guarantee. These can also be offered via video conferencing, teletherapy through out the state of Texas.
I have worked extensively with couples, adults, men and women serving in the military and women of all ages. I am a Gottman trained Level Two Provider, and I have specialized training with New Ways for Families, High-Conflict Couples, Family Bridges and Parental Alienation.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
If you have had a previous negative experience with a therapist, I would ask that you give me a call. Let's devise a treatment plan that you can get excited about. I know that sometimes men can be reluctant to come to therapy or marriage counseling. I work very hard at establishing a win-win, consequently there should be no losers in my sessions. Many men tell me that therapy is not what they expected, and instead say it is "surprisingly helpful". Therefore, I would encourage you to give our therapeutic relationship a chance. I hope to hear from you real soon.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I too, have experienced difficult circumstances in my life. However my personal struggles, tragedies, along with my personal triumphs, and advanced degrees make me a much better therapist. Often, I can readily understand or feel my client's pain, because I have experienced a very similar situation. I get it, life is hard, there are no easy answers. However, I can offer hope and help, because I have moved beyond similar situations, and have learned to integrate them into my present way of being.
Together, I work hard with my clients to reduce symptoms or to help them regain their life, so the problems they are currently experiencing do not define them. I take great joy in helping my clients or couples find genuine healing, restoration, acceptance and personal integration of their past, present and future.
