My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child and family work with children ages 2 to 22, although my current work is focused on the 1-12 age range. Areas of specialty include issues of anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, sleep issues, toileting, grief, health medical issues, anger control, developmental issues and disorders, learning or cognitive concerns, and parenting. I predominantly utilize cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches, skill-building, and parent training to help children and families achieve higher levels of functioning. I received my Psy.D. in clinical psychology in 1996 from Florida Tech and completed my postdoctoral training and residency work with the Virginia Treatment Center for Children, where I further specialized in working with children and families, particularly those with medical and developmental needs. I have spent the past 28 years building upon my work with children and teens with various needs and their families, as this is where my highest interest lies.
