My Approach to Helping
I've personally struggled with many of the issues that I treat which I think makes for a more relatable experience for my clients. I'm easy to talk to and feel confident in my ability to help people navigate just about any mental health or substance use challenge. I also believe that you need to find a therapist that you really connect with to get the work done and I won't take offense if it turns out not to be me. I offer a free first session to make sure we're a good fit.
I've been working in the field as a substance use counselor since 2014 and graduated with my masters degree in 2019. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, depression, ADHD, and personality disorders like BPD. I believe the best approach with most of my clients is a blend between symptom management and addressing core issues. I specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and specialized trauma interventions like EMDR.
