My Approach to Helping
Hi, I’m Eleanor Curtis, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in North Carolina. My approach is client-centered, working with a variety of client concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationships, and stress.
I use elements of Solution-focused Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I’ll work with you to discover what works best for you as the client.
I work with adult individuals ages 18 and above.
I have a calm tone and want my clients to feel open to express whatever they need to in the moment.
I’m conscious of what many people carry around and are weighted down by in their lives. Some of this emotional weight may be things that you’ve never discussed or even acknowledged, but you know something is not right, and I’m here to talk through it with you and work on it together.
A big part of goal setting is first determining what the client’s goals are. Then, we can discuss and work together on a plan to move toward the goal.
A first session with me is getting to know each other and letting the client have a “vent”. I want the client to let me know what brings them to therapy at this point in their lives.
