My Approach to Helping
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I received my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. Over the past 25 years, I have lived in five countries, and as a volunteer, I helped many refugees adjust to their new countries. I have experience working with adults with mental health challenges, including life transition issues, adjustment issues, cultural assimilation, PTSD, stress management, anxiety, depression, mood issues, grief, interpersonal relationship issues, low self-esteem, and trauma.
In my practice, I combine a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy, emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I offer a trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally competent approach that is adaptable to clients’ personalities and needs. I offer a client-centred approach and provide clients with a non-judgemental, caring, and compassionate environment while working collaboratively on their therapeutic goals and needs.
