My Approach to Helping
"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." -Dr. Seuss
My ability to easily relate to and connect with children and teens provides them with a comfortable space in which they can express themselves. Working with individuals and families is my passion. I believe that each child is an individual with individual needs; therefore, each treatment plan is customized to meet the unique needs of your child and family. My goal is to help children and families learn the skills necessary to have healthy, happy lives.
When needed, I also work with parents and other individuals involved in the child's life by providing support, coping skills, and new ideas to help manage the difficulties the child is experiencing. I am also available for speaking engagements and can be contacted through my website.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
In order for therapy to be successful you need to feel comfortable and confident with the therapist you choose. You often get a certain "feeling" when you speak to a therapist by phone or even through email. Personality fit is important first; if you cannot relate to your therapist and your therapist cannot relate to you, you will have a difficult time feeling at ease with the therapeutic process. When working with children it is important that the therapist you choose understands and is passionate about the specific therapeutic needs of children. Children express feelings and needs differently from adults and it is important that the therapist you choose can connect with not only your child, but you as a parent as well.
