My Approach to Helping
Do you feel like you're barely hanging in there? Like you've lost your way, or maybe even yourself. You just can't seem to get back on solid footing-emotionally OR mentally. You’ve tried your usual tips and tricks to feel better, but they’ve barely moved the needle. Your brain feels like it's not your friend and it's tough to find happiness in the things that usually bring you joy. Your confidence has been knocked down a few pegs. You either feel keyed up with constant worry or knocked flat, laying on the couch or your bed without the energy to do anything. And now you've decided: it's time for a change.
Each path to healing is unique. My relational approach to therapy is collaborative and guided by compassion, understanding and meaning. It takes courage and resilience to process difficult experiences. My priority in session is to offer a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences to finding a meaningful way forward. Drawing from a holistic blend of approaches I help clients discover their own strength, clarity, and wisdom so they can feel empowered to build lives that are more peaceful, joyful and fulfilling.
I help clients make sense of their experiences and develop curiosity and compassion for their whole selves, even the parts that they may not like or understand. Drawing from Psychodynamic therapy, Mindfulness Based Somatic approaches and Gestalt therapy I help uncover blockages that hold clients back to facilitate healing.
My role as a therapist is to cultivate a safe environment where clients can create awareness of themselves by examining both the mind and body. I am interested in working with anyone who would like to improve their relationships and well-being or deepen their understanding of themselves and their place in this world. I look forward to meeting you!
