My Approach to Helping
"Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, seniors, and families to address their mental health concerns and improve their overall well-being. She uses a Cognitive-Behavioral approach and understands that we are all affected by the systems that we live in (family, friends, significant others, community, workschool, etc.). She has said that ""relationships are the most important things in life, but they are the most difficult things in life."" Elizabeth believes that every person is unique and ""each of us has value and purpose in this life. We matter. We have what it takes to survive, overcome obstacles, and reach our goals. Elizabeth has worked with individuals and families, from children to seniors, with all types of symptoms and diagnoses. These include ADHD, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders, Adoption, Bipolar Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Dissociative Disorders, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, Paranoia, Personality Disorders, PTSD, Psychosis, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Schizophrenia-type disorders, Sleep problems, and Trauma. Her experience also includes those with dual diagnoses such as Addiction or PhysicalMedical issues. She is currently certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional and a Family Trauma Professional. Elizabeth’s hometown is Detroit (Go Detroit Tigers! Go “there’s always next year” Lions!). She lives in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She spent most of her adulthood in Richmond, VA, where she owned a counseling agency for 23 years, providing intensive family counseling and intensive individual counseling with adults. Elizabeth is an animal advocate and dog rescuer. She appreciates the joy and support they give us."
