My Approach to Helping

I approach this work from a psychoanalytic lens collaboratively with the goal of helping people gain a deeper understanding of their suffering and identify meaning and methods to alleviate pain.

More Info About My Practice

I have a certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PAPPTP) Two-Year Program at the Stanford University Psychiatry Building. As part of this certificate program, I underwent two years of weekly consultations with psychoanalysts, Drs. Schneider and Birkhofer, and Ann Martini, LCSW. I completed training with the PAPPTP- Fellowship Year in Spring 2021 and completed their Two-Year Program in Spring 2024.

I have additional immersive training in Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Open Dialogue, suicide risk evaluation for children and adults, OCD, trauma, and the treatment of disordered eating.

Before opening my private practice, I worked in a clinical capacity with the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) and for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in their Emergency Departments. I spent several years providing psychiatric evaluations in a crisis stabilization unit and psychiatric hospital in Santa Cruz while completing my hours for licensure under the training of Dr. Weinstein. After I earned my master's in psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, I moved to Oahu to work as an art therapist for children with the Hawaii Department of Education.

Outside of my practice and ongoing analytic training I often surf, hike, ski, ride horses, make art, and spend time in nature and conversation with my family and friends. I played two NCAA Division I varsity sports at the University of Vermont, grew up on a horse farm, and come from a lineage of farmers, healthcare providers, land conservationists, athletes, and artists. Thank you for visiting my website and I hope to generate positive change and wellness with you.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Typically, I work with people once or twice weekly, depending on the presenting issues. For some, meeting once every other week is an option as well. This is something we can work out together!
