My Approach to Helping
I began working with these specialities based on inspiration from my personal experiences with parenting and motherhood and a desire to help support clients and their families through the joys and challenges life can bring. My personal background includes becoming a mother at a later age, and experiencing perinatal loss, which has shaped my perspective. I also have experience with boundary setting and establishing healthy relationship dynamics.
My clinical experience includes work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are adjusting to changes and challenges in life and are looking to improve their emotional resilience and well-being. My background includes a great deal of experience working with new and established parents as they navigate their parenting journey.
I have experience and training in improving relationships, working through major life changes, mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression, processing grief, and working through past experiences and trauma. I have specialized training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well as Perinatal Loss and Grief. I am also an EMDRIA approved EMDR trained therapist.
When working with couples, I enjoy creating an open and safe place where each individual can feel understood and supported while processing the past and working towards a healthier relationship dynamic. I am a certified Level 1 Gottman Method therapist.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Houston Baptist University and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
