My Approach to Helping
If you have ever found yourself feeling isolated and misunderstood, know that you are not alone. A core aspect of my approach as a therapist is to create an authentic connection with clients so that they feel prioritized and encouraged to pursue their goals and create a more fulfilling life. Before becoming a clinician I was a teacher and found that the most rewarding aspect of my work was creating relationships with students and helping them find confidence to meet their potential. I sought to deepen that work by becoming a counselor, making that my main focus as a professional. It is extremely important to me to help clients feel understood and seen. I individualize care to each client or couple I work with, no one person has the same needs and I recognize and encourage that. I specialize in treating OCD, trauma, anxiety and depression. I also do couple’s work utilizing Imago therapy and the Gottman approach. I hope to help all of my clients develop insight into patterns of relating and engaging in the world so that they can improve their lives and flourish.
