My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a diverse clinical skill set, dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care. My purpose is to provide a place for you to show up exactly as you are, feeling welcome to share and process your experiences. My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My clinical experience includes providing individual, group, and family therapy in Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Non-Medical Residential levels of care.
I approach psychotherapy as a collaborative effort to develop a fulfilling sense of self, others, and the world. I strive to meet individuals where they are, believing and trusting in human potential. I use an integrative approach to address the specific needs and goals of each individual. My top modalities include Person-centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Coping with overwhelming emotions, changing negative thinking patterns, controlling unwanted behaviors, resolving conflicts in relationships, navigating through difficult life transitions, recovering from addiction, and healing from trauma.
Active and reflective listening, open-ended questions, clarifying and summarizing, and reflective feedback. Calm, respectful, empathetic, curious, open, caring, and supportive.
Successful care begins with developing the therapeutic relationship: establishing rapport, trust, respect, care, collaboration, and harmony. A better relationship leads to better outcomes. Success and progress in therapy can be based on objective goals that are measurable and quantifiable, as well as subjective goals related to the sense of self, others, situations, and the world. My goal is to help identify what success and progress look like for each individual.
