My Approach to Helping

NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS for in-person and telehealth appointments.
Whether you are a medical professional experiencing stress and despair; a depressed, confused student; Someone suffering from relationship issues, having spiritual issues; a busy professional confused by mid-life issues, or any person in any walk of life, as your counselor it is an honor to make the journey of discovery with you as you awaken into a life you may never have thought possible. As I listen intently as you narrate your story, I offer solutions and paths to explore together as we discover answers to the questions, the struggles, whether mild or severe, that you are experiencing. Helping you through your suffering is itself the most important part of the therapeutic relationship; I am here for you.

PLEASE NOTE: I now have a small puppy in the office! If you do not like puppies, or are allergic, we may not be the best fit. Otherwise, Zoe and I look forward to serving you!

I have listened to and helped clients with almost every possible issue imaginable. What brings you to my office door is the start of the wonderful growth process of psychotherapy, sometimes exciting, always illuminating, sometimes painful. We explore what your heart is saying to you in dealing with your suffering and life questions you have among the distractions, the diversions, and the addictions of everyday life. That is what real therapy is about.

If you are open to that kind of exploration in your life, then I would love to work with you to achieve that dream. Someone who truly cares about you must do their very best to help. I hope I am that person. Email me on this page, or call me to set an appointment.

More Info About My Practice

I accept Excellus and Blue CrossBlue Shield, Blue Choice Option, and other bcbs, as well as Secondary Level EAP and Espyr; beyond that, I operate and provide out of network reimbursement in a sliding scale, fee-for-service relationship with my clients at reasonable rates ($75-$125hour.) For those who pay out-of-pocket, I accept Flex Spending accounts, credit cards, checks, cash, and payment via PayPal. If you wish to get reimbursed by your insurance provider, I will be happy to fill out invoices on your behalf. I have had great success with insurance reimbursing my clients, but the safest way to find out is to call your insurance and find out how much they will reimburse and if you have a deductible to meet.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I help people in the Helping Professions who are experiencing burnout, PTSD, despair, even suicidal thoughts. I help people in need of spiritual guidance. I help many people suffering from depression and anxiety, from mild to severe. I work with Complex PTSD. I help people suffering grief and loss. I help people of all ages understand and improve their relationships to others; I help people at midlife understand their lives better, preparing the way for a possibly wonderful second-half of life.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Talking through the important issues in your life with someone you trust and who hears your story is the most important part of therapy. We explore more in-depth issues, especially current and past relationships, obstacles to a good life, what it is you believe, and the roles Toxic Shame codependence, and CPTSD play. Through all of this, you achieve illumination into who you are, and how to relate better to others; how to relate, ultimately, to yourself and to the world around you, while gaining the ability to build a better life.
