I like to find ways clients can play to their strengths in more ways than they expected, while also giving grace towards unwanted thoughtsbehaviors that have served a purpose in the past. I believe people are doing the best they can with what they have- we may need more information in order to do better, and we also need to process hurts that are holding us back from our relationship with ourselves and others.
I use an integrated approach with a systemic lens to inform my work and the way I view problems and solutions. I believe that intimate relationships are one of the most important elements of being a human--this includes the therapeutic relationship. I enjoy connecting deeply with clients to learn and understand their personal perspectives on their issues and the ways their unique stories have unfolded. I use narrative, experiential, and person-centered techniques to help clients find their voice to advocate for themselves, set boundaries, or express their feelings.
