My Approach to Helping
The primary approach to therapy, in my view is an egalitarian and empowerment model in which the client is given the opportunity to expand and process presenting issues within the context of their world view, experience, and through their relationship to self and others. I incorporate an eclectic approach to treatment based on client's needs. Everyone is different and experiences the world in a unique way. Assisting a client find their authenticity and happiness for an improved life experience is key to my practice.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love doing this work because I know the possibilities are many and I know it works! It is an opportunity to assist in co-creating new possibilities for a new reality. For me, creating a safe space in which a working relationship with unconditional positive regard is offered, promotes self-reflection, healing and growth. The passion I have revolving around mental health stems from promoting increased understanding of the importance of mental health as part of overall health and well being. The value of therapy and the de-stigmatization of mental illness will improve overall attitudes and feelings about persons experiencing whole health improvement! Poder servir la comuidad Latina y proveer servicios de consejeria y empoderar mi comunidad es importante!
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Overall, I feel that the length of treatment varies depending on the presenting issue, possible underlying issues and client participation in treatment. I usually recommend at least 12 sessions to begin with on a weekly basis. Treatment consists of setting goals, developing a treatment plan, and evaluation mid way through. I believe that a client who has been active in treatment and has met hishertheir goals will determine level of readiness for termination or suspension of treatment.
