My Approach to Helping

When life feels overwhelming, having a compassionate partner in healing can make all the difference. With over a decade of experience, I help women find paths to healing and growth individually or in families and relationships. I specialize in trauma and co-occurring disorders (mental health, substance issues, and relationship difficulties), and the unique phases of life women encounter, from motherhood to career shifts to menopause. Together, we’ll work to create lasting change through a safe, supportive, and client-centered approach, whether your journey involves personal growth, overcoming past pain, or rebuilding relationships
My approach emphasizes self-awareness, empowerment, and self-compassion, fostering a space where you can feel safe, heard, and valued. I draw on evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional resilience, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including somatic techniques, to support lasting change. Christian counseling is also available for those who wish to integrate faith.
Taking the first step can be difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as you work through life’s transitions, heal from past pain, and discover a deeper sense of peace and fulfillment. If you’re ready to explore your potential for change, let’s start this journey together—one compassionate step at a time. Blessings, Felisa

I utilize several different therapy modalities. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including somatic (body) techniques, helps women identify and challenge negative thought patterns, fostering healthier beliefs and behaviors. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) specifically addresses trauma-related thoughts, empowering women to process their experiences and reduce distress. Exposure Therapy gradually supports women to confront fears in a safe environment, reducing anxiety and building resilience. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) equips women with skills to manage emotions and improve relationships, focusing on mindfulness and acceptance. Lastly, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages women to embrace their thoughts and feelings while committing to personal values, promoting meaningful living despite challenges. Together, these therapies offer powerful tools for healing and growth.

Groups I Work With

At Orenda Therapeutic Services, PLLC, we recognize that mental and emotional well-being is a journey that integrates mind, body, and soul. We support women as they navigate a variety of challenges, providing compassionate care for issues that impact their daily lives and sense of self. Common areas we address in therapy include:
Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma: These three often exist in a complex relationship, where one may trigger or intensify the others. Past trauma can shape the brain’s response to stress, making individuals more vulnerable to anxiety and depression. Our trauma-informed approach helps women process painful experiences, manage overwhelming feelings, and regain a sense of control over their lives. We work to heal emotional wounds, reduce symptoms, and build resilience, bringing a renewed sense of hope and inner peace.
ADHD, Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression: For many women, ADHD is an underlying factor that can intensify anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. ADHD symptoms, such as difficulty with focus, organization, and emotional regulation, often go unnoticed or are mistaken for anxiety and mood disorders. When left untreated, ADHD can lead to feelings of inadequacy, heightened stress, and even low self-worth. We offer a nuanced approach that addresses the overlapping impacts of ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Through skill-building, emotional regulation, and self-acceptance work, we help women navigate these intertwined challenges, fostering a sense of control, clarity, and self-compassion.
Relationship and Interpersonal Issues: From friendships and family dynamics to romantic relationships, connections are central to women’s lives but can also be sources of stress or pain. Therapy can help you identify and understand relational patterns, set healthy boundaries, and work through attachment issues and relational traumas that may affect your ability to trust and connect with others.
Grief and Loss: Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or an envisioned future, grief can shape one’s mental and emotional landscape profoundly. We offer a compassionate space for women to process grief in their own way and time, acknowledging the complexity of loss while helping them find meaning, acceptance, and healing.
Self-Esteem and Body Image: Self-worth and body image can be particularly challenging due to societal pressures and past experiences. We help women cultivate a positive relationship with themselves and their bodies, fostering self-acceptance and countering critical self-beliefs. Addressing this mind-body connection is essential to mental and physical well-being.
Life Transitions and Identity: Women often face unique challenges during major life transitions, from career shifts and family roles to aging and retirement. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore questions of purpose, identity, and self-worth, helping women navigate these changes with greater resilience and a renewed sense of direction.
Physical Health and Chronic Illness: Chronic health issues, menopause, fertility challenges, and other physical health conditions can bring a host of emotional and mental challenges. We help women manage the emotional toll of physical health issues and develop self-care strategies to build resilience and acceptance, understanding that the mind and body are closely connected.
Spiritual Exploration and Fulfillment: For many, spirituality is an essential part of healing. Whether through Christian counseling or personal exploration, we support women in seeking meaning, connection, and fulfillment, offering an approach that honors the whole self—mind, body, and soul.
By offering support for these areas, we aim to help women move through life’s complexities with strength, awareness, and resilience. At Orenda, we honor each woman’s unique journey and work to empower them to embrace their inherent worth, potential, and sense of inner peace.
