My Approach to Helping
Hi there! I'm Nicole and I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the State of Georgia. I graduated from Brenau University with a Master's degree in Counseling and Clinical Psychology. My treatment approach is holistic and eclectic. I believe that therapy should never be a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Everyone heals differently and my goal is to personalize my approach to optimize your growth and overall well-being.
I enjoy working with clients who are facing problems with infertility, women's issues, or loss of a child. Previously, I have worked with a variety of clients but decided to focus solely on women's health after experiencing my own miscarriage and subsequent infertility issues. I aim to create a safe space for my clients so they can feel comfortable with letting me into the most vulnerable points of life.
After experiencing my own infertility and pregnancy issues, I found there was a lack of resources for this particular niche. I wanted to be an advocate for families who face these issues. Infertility can be isolating and I want my clients to have a safe avenue to discuss their fears and frustrations in a therapeutic way. One of the very first questions I ask is, "What are your goals for therapy"? Then the client and I will work together to put together a treatment plan. Throughout the session, the client and I will discuss the effectiveness of the treatment plan and will update it accordingly.
During the first session, I ask questions- LOTS of questions! The purpose behind this is to get a comprehensive view of the client's past and current lifestyle so we can create an effective treatment plan.
