My Approach to Helping

Queer, nonbinary, mixed-race, neurodiverse psychotherapist currently maintaining a waitlist for new prospective clients. Please contact me to get on the list or for more information.

Hello and welcome. I'm glad you're here. My name is Frankie (they them), and I am a gestalt psychotherapist specializing in issues relating to sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, body dysphoria, religious trauma, relationships (monogamous polyamorous), kink, anxiety, depression, existential issues & life transitions. If you've been reluctant to approach a therapist for support fearing that you will be judged or shamed, I can empathize - and I can probably help.

The need or desire for support, healing, self-acceptance, clarity, or greater awareness is part of being human, and it can become especially important at times when we feel uncertain, anxious, doubtful or afraid. You don't have to figure it out alone. Gestalt psychotherapy is a slower, process-oriented therapy ideal for someone invested in a solid, supportive, ongoing therapeutic alliance. It allows for the time it takes to create a safe container for both deeper work and more long-lasting change. You are always the expert on your own experience and have complete control over the pacing and speed of the work we do.

Our sessions together will weave gentle curiosity and open-ended exploration of who you are as an embodied human in relation to your environment, understanding that what is in the present usually has roots anchored deep in our somatic (body) awareness. Contact me today to schedule a free 30-minute consult and let's see if we might be a good fit.

More Info About My Practice

I see clients in-person on Mondays (9am to 9pm), Wednesdays (9am to 9pm), and Fridays (9am to 12pm). Online Zoom sessions are also available during those windows, as well as Thursdays between 9am and 5pm.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Gestalt psychotherapy is a relational therapy, which means that a very important part of the process is goodness of fit between therapist and client. You may have had experiences in the past of sitting with a therapist who you felt didn't really "get" you - I certainly have - and noticed how hard it was to be vulnerable due to a fear (or reality) of being judged or misunderstood. Paying attention to how you feel with a prospective therapist is very important, and though trust can definitely take time to build, finding a therapist whose "vibes" feel good to you usually bodes well for deeper and more effective therapy as you get into the work.
