My Approach to Helping
With 12+ years of experience, I specialize in working with couples to rebuild their relationship, intimacy, trust, and communication skills. I also specialize in working with individuals and families coping with chronic illness. My approach is to work in a collaborative team to build on strengths that naturally exist and learn additional coping skills. Each session includes real-time exercises and skills that we will work on to address your identified needs, as well as homework for you to apply between sessions to continually grow and work toward your goals.
More Info About My Practice
My desire to become a therapist began when I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 10 and was faced with learning how to cope with this significant change in my life. This experience allowed me to learn coping skills and strategies to overcome struggles that we experience in life and provided me with a passion to provide that same knowledge to others.
I have over 12 years working with couples and families focused on building the relationships and lives that they want. My 2 areas of specialty focus on couples counseling with improving intimacy, trust, and communication and my other area of specialty is working and supporting adjustments related to coping with chronic illness.
My Role as a Therapist
As a Therapist, I view myself as a partner in helping my clients grow with their natural strengths. I believe that we all have the strength to overcome the road bumps we encounter in life and may use a little guidance and support from others every now and then. That's what my role as a Therapist would be, that extra support and guidance to help overcome whatever struggles that may be faced.
It is a strong belief of mine that we all deserve happiness and to have a complete fulfilling life. Whatever that looks like for you, It is my goal to assist clients individually, as a couple, or as a family to achieve their desired goals and ideal happiness.
