My Approach to Helping
Gloria Gonzalez, PhD, LMHC. I am an eclectic practitioner of the healing arts. My focus is to provide alternative emotional and behavioral tools to clients and assist them in how to best handle daily life stressors, such as conflict, anxiety, trauma, unresolved grief issues, sadness, and overall emotional liability.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Approach, Jungian Approach, and at times Gestalt therapy, Rational Emotive, and Behavioral Therapy. I work with teenagers, adults, couples, families, and elderly populations. I treat trauma, interpersonal and intra-personal conflict, anxiety, depression, and career issues. I use motivational interviewing, which focuses on empowerment and change. To work with me as a provider feels like a stimulation to grow as a holistic person."
My main drive is my desire to be of service to others. I am devoted to trying my best to make a difference in another person's life. I create an environment of collaboration in which the patient participates in the delineation of a treatment plan fit for herhis needs. Clients will have the opportunity to fully disclose the reasons why they are seeking therapy. They will also give voice to their expectations for treatment. They will start receiving the best alternatives to address and resolve their issues (BATNAs).
