My Approach to Helping
Finding a therapist that you can connect with, a therapist that is truly invested in you and your growth, is one of the essential steps in your personal healing journey. I believe that the most important part of the therapy process is building a trusting relationship with clients. I strive to maintain an approach that empowers clients to feel secure in our work together and to trust the process. I am glad to work with any client who has the courage to be their authentic self and present during our time together. I hope to cultivate a space in which you feel empowered to learn, unlearn, relearn, challenge, and be challenged. I lead with empathy and mindfulness while bearing witness to your unique experience. I will work with you to explore past and present thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behavior patterns as they relate to all aspects of life. I utilize an approach that embodies both direct and validating communication, while embracing self-reflection, authenticity, and shame reduction. My approach is collaborative and flexible based on your unique needs. In my sessions, you can expect a nonjudgmental atmosphere, warmth, and a genuine interest in you as we work together to cultivate your desired outcome. Guided by a deep-rooted passion to be an advocate for those in need, I completed a Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. I am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I am a Certified Case Manager (CCM) by the Commission for Case Manager Certification, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) by NAHQ, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. I currently offer professional telehealth services in the state of Arizona, utilizing various therapeutic approaches including trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing (MI), behavior modification, and brief solution-focused therapy (SFBT). I have worked with clients from all walks of life and provided behavioral health services in various healthcare settings. When I am not working, I love to explore the incredible Phoenix, AZ hikes and restaurants. At times, I just like to stay at home relaxing. I play noncompetitive tennis. I enjoy arts and crafts, health, and wellness activities such as meditation or spa. Namaste! (\NAH-muh-stay\)
