My Approach to Helping

You want more for yourself in every way: mentally, physically, and emotionally. But lately, the pressure is weighing on you. The constant racing thoughts, the anxiety about what's coming next, the self-doubt that keeps you second-guessing every decision, and the overwhelming sense of helplessness that makes it hard to stay afloat. You deserve to break free from this cycle and regain control.

Life can feel like a constant juggling act—work, relationships, and the pressure to always be "on." If you’re burnt out, overwhelmed, or just feeling stuck in the chaos of modern life, you’re not alone. As your therapist, I’m here to help you make sense of the mess and give you the tools to regain balance. In our sessions, you’ll find a space to talk openly about your stress and challenges without fear of judgment. We’ll explore what's causing your discomfort and work through it together. You don’t have to have it all figured out—life is messy. We’ll dive into the pressures you’re facing and help you recognize that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. You’ll learn evidence-based strategies like CBT and mindfulness to reduce stress, set boundaries, and make space for what truly matters to you—without guilt or burnout.

Therapy is about your growth, not a race. Whether you need quick relief or long-term support, we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be fulfilling. Together, we’ll create a plan to help you thrive, even through the messiness. Ready to stop just surviving and start thriving? Let’s work together to build a resilient life you love. Everyone handles life's challenges differently with different levels of support. All it takes is one supportive person in your life to be the catalyst for change. I can be that support.

More Info About My Practice

Resilient Futures Counseling is a woman-owned private practice in Northern Virginia dedicated to helping individuals navigate the challenges of modern life with compassion and practical support. Specializing in working with overwhelmed adults, we offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore stress, overwhelm, and life’s messiness. Through evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, we empower our clients to set boundaries, manage anxiety, and build healthier, more balanced lives. At Resilient Futures, we believe in not just surviving, but thriving—because your future can be resilient, especially during painful times.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

You are the expert of you and I bring various perspectives to find the right tools to help you through challenging experiences. I work collaborative with my clients and find that when they are committed to understanding themselves, and ready to face their fears, nothing can stop them from growth. Therapy is a place to receive objective feedback with someone on your team. It is a time to check in, to break down, to rebuild, and to find your authentic resiliency.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Therapy doesn't have to be stiff or cold. You're allowed to crack jokes (on occasion), share what's going well in your life, and yes, focus on things you'd like to see differently. My encouragement is to first schedule a consultation call. Ask the therapist about what they specialize in, how they support their clients and other logistics that might play into your decision process (distance, parking, modality, availability). My only caveat to that is you really won't be able to know if a therapist is the right fit for you until you have a few sessions with them. Just because one therapist doesn't work for you, doesn't mean there that therapy isn't for you. It just means they weren't the best fit to support your needs.
